Last Saturday on Schooner Road I woke up to a distressed sound coming from my yard. The cry kept on every few seconds so I decided to get up (03:30 a.m.) and check it out. I grabbed a flashlight and after hearing the noise closer to my house I looked out of the windows to see a good size golden dog of mixed breed with short legs biting and chewing on a large fawn. The dog's face was covered in blood and the deer was laying down crying for help. After chasing the dog away, the deer was able to get away but his tail had been torn off and there was blood all over. I'm hoping that the dog's owners noticed their dog covered in blood and now are able to know the reason for it. A dog that has learnt to chase and kill deer needs to be dealt with.
