Political Commentator Rafe Mair and biologist Alexandra Morton will be speaking at a meeting in support of North Island NDP incumbent Claire Trevena.
The event takes place at the Maritime Heritage Centre at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, May 5th. Islanders take note: it's a short walk from the ferry!
Rafe Mair is a former Social Credit cabinet minister. For many years, he hosted an open line radio program. He is an avid fisherman and strong critic of the Liberal Government's environmental policies.
Alexandra Morton is a North Island resident who is well known for her studies of orcas and her defense of wild salmon. In February, she won a Supreme Court of BC case that requires fish farms be placed under federal not provincial jurisdiction.
The Maritime Heritage Centre is located at 621 Island Highway.
