An open letter to the Quadra Community from the Canada Day Committee, DI Chamber of Commerce:
Dear Friends of Quadra Island Canada Day,
RE: Quadra's 8th Annual Canada Day Celebration
The Discovery Island Chamber of Commerce initiated a Tourism Committee in 2000 with a mandate to promote, encourage, support and improve our community. In 2002, this group created the Canada Day Committee, made up of volunteers dedicated to promoting Canada Heritage and our Island. This event has now become Quadra's largest community celebration, attracting over 1200 people.
Every year the Canada Day Celebrations have successfully grown, and we are preparing for the 8th annual. As well, 2009 is the 50th anniversary of Rebecca Spit becoming a Provincial Park, which will be included in the celebration.
We are seeking your financial assistance to help make this event the success it has been for the past 7 years. You can donate any amount, or may choose to participate in one of the various levels of sponsorship. Bronze--Platinum sponsors will be acknowledged in the event program, and in our onsite advertisement of supporters:
Bronze: $100 Silver: $250 Gold:$500 Platinum: $750 and over
Gold and Platinum sponsors will also be provided with special mention the evening of the event, in print, on the Chamber's website, and on Quadra's community website, www.thegumboot.ca
We would like to thank Heriot Bay Tru Value and Quadra Island Builders for their Platinum Plus Level of support over the years.
Any financial assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Please make out cheques to Discovery Islands Chamber of Commerce, NB: Canada Day, and submit cheques as soon as possible so we have adequate time to add your name to the brochures. Cheques should be sent to the mailing address below.
We will also have donation boxes marked CANADA DAY, in various business around Quadra, where you could donate cash or cheques if you prefer to contribute this way. No amount is too small or too big to help in funding this event. !! “Happy 50th Anniversary Rebecca Spit Park!”
With our sincere thanks,
Canada Day Committee
