Join us in welcoming Louise Lavallée at her Reception on First Friday October 2nd from 6 – 8 pm.
Acrylic/mixed media, these playful and sometimes serious narrative illustrations allow us to share in the artist’s keen observations as influenced by the atmosphere and natural beauty of Island life.
These new works capture the atmosphere of Island living through paintings on mixed media, paper, and canvas. With a purity of colour and attention to detail, you’ll find surrealistic paintings that mark how oceanic territory relates to human society and our impact on the ocean surrounding us. Among sailboats in harbour and in full tack, and a kelpy self-portrait turned into fish, you will also find orcas and dolphins in the surf.
Come and meet the creator of Quadra’s famous Island Poster and see her new work.
DRAW Gallery invites the public to enjoy and savor the creative spirit of the artists who live amongst us. The Gallery stands by its commitment to bring contemporary Westcoast art in an intimate setting.
Hours are Thurs thru Sat 12 - 6 pm and we are located on Quadra Island at Village Square, in the rear – just follow the signs. Drop by and see the show next time you are at the Square. Openings First Fridays.
