Dear North Island Constituents,

I would like you to know that the Finance Committee of the Legislative Assembly is currently holding public hearings across BC on the 2010 budget. If you wish to make a submission to the committee, you can do so by a variety of means including mail, on-line survey, video or audio submission, or via public hearing. The link to the website is The deadline for public input is Friday October 23, 2009.

This year the closest location for a public hearing is via video conferencing in Courtenay. If you wish to register for a presentation time or simply would like more information, please contact the Office of the Clerk of Committees at (250) 356-2933 or toll-free in BC 1-877-428-8337. I have copied the public hearing information below.

Would you like to present your budget priorities directly to the Finance Committee at a public hearing? This year, the Committee will be holding 10 public hearings across British Columbia. This schedule includes 3 video conference sessions (VCS) to facilitate access.

Please note: Due to time constraints, the Committee is unable to accommodate PowerPoint presentations. Please provide the Committee with 14 copies of any written material you would like to distribute to committee members at the time of your presentation.
