A group of Tibetan monks will be artists in residence at the CR Art Gallery from Oct 27 to Nov 4, to create a sand mandala and offer school programs. The best time of day for a visit is at 10am, when the monks start their day with music and chanting to their haunting musical instruments. The monks will also be giving a variety of cultural evening performances here, on Cortes and Quadra Islands. See the attached poster for details.

Is anyone interested in preparing and delivering a simple lunch for the five monks, their spiritual leader and driver/interpreter during their stay and/or offering a donation for costs related to hosting the monks in the region. (The only things they don't eat are pork and seafood.) If so, please give me a call at 250-287-2261.

Please pass this poster on to others you think might be interested. This is a unique opportunity to experience another culture. The monks are on a Canada-wide tour, with a stop in Victoria just prior to their visit here and then back to Vancouver.
