Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! Just in time for Christmas the Society has received an anonymous donation of $50,000. The Board of Directors is overjoyed at this display of generosity, which puts us much closer to certainty in being able to obtain a mortgage to get construction started on the first duplex this coming Spring.

Year-end is approaching, so it is time for a reminder that charitable donations in excess of $200 earn a rebate at tax-filing time of $437 for $1000 donated, meaning that to donate $1000 costs only $563 in reality. QISHS is a registered charitable society, and ALL donations receive a tax receipt – even $5 for a life membership!

A big THANK YOU to Roy Dahlnas for providing 40 cu. yds. of washed rock for the recently-completed covering of the drainage ditch. Continued volunteer donations of material and services by Quadra businesses is much appreciated.

Don’t forget to do some of your Christmas shopping at Quadra Builders Dec 19 and 20 where 10% of all sales go to Seniors Housing…. Also, come out and have fun at the Legion Boxing Day Casino Dec 26th, where all proceeds go to QISHS.

Quadra residents and businesses are really starting to get behind the fundraising effort…..
Keep Up The Good Work!
Thank you
