GREAT PROGRESS BEING MADE - Thanks to an enthusiastic group of volunteers who have an ability to get things done…….
John and Bob Toelle and Cathy Lansdall surveyed the property and staked out the building locations last week, and on Jan. 7th QISHS representatives met with John to survey the results and suggest some minor changes. Since then these changes have been incorporated into the building plans and siting plans, and with some more drafting will be ready for presentation to the Regional District at a meeting set up for Jan. 20th.

Thanks also to Val Barr who modified the landscaping plans, and to Board members who approved all of the above to go ahead.

The biggest THANK YOU goes to Red Williams who promptly and efficiently drilled a new water well to replace the existing one which no longer met the new regulations for distance from the community sewer line. The plan is for Red to submit his invoice for the job, we will pay it, and Red will contribute the same amount to the Society in return for a tax receipt. In plain English this means the well is drilled at no cost to the Society.
The new well is flowing nicely and John says it tastes great..

A new Information Sheet has been prepared by Tucker Dinnes and Riki Vogt, and will be available soon for distribution – updating information about the project. This will also be available soon on the Gumboot in the Senior Housing Department.

It is indeed heartwarming to see the volunteer input by business people on Quadra. We don’t have a number yet on the Quadra Builder 10% weekend, but will let you know when received.
