BYLAW NO. 43
“Quadra Island Zoning Bylaw, 1990, Amendment No. 96”
Property location: Foreshore area within Sutil Channel SE of Rebecca Spit, Quadra Island, BC
Public hearing to be held: Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Location: Quadra Island Community Centre, 970 West Main Road, Quadra Island, BC
Starting at: 7:00 pm
This bylaw, if adopted, would rezone the subject area from Indian Reserve One (IR-1), Access Two (AC-2) and Marine Reserve One (MR-1) to a newly created Aquaculture Two A (AQ-2A) zone, to permit passive aquaculture (scallop cultivation) with surface structures being limited to floats and navigational aids only.

The subject property is legally described as unsurveyed Crown foreshore or land covered by water being part of the bed of Sutil Channel, Sayward District and is shown on the adjacent map.

A copy of the proposed bylaw and further information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District office, 301 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, excluding holidays, from Tuesday, February 23 to Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaw will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing.

The Strathcona Regional District cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing. If you cannot attend the public hearing, all written submissions, mailed or electronic, must be received by this office no later than 4:30 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
