Friends of Cortes Island
A friendly invitation for tomorrow's Skill Sharing event with Bruce Hipkin:
"Muddling Towards Frugality" is a FOCI Skill Sharing workshop to be presented at Mansons Hall by Whaletown resident Bruce Hipkin. Bruce will give an illustrated talk about the changes he and his wife Judy have made at home in the last two years, enabling them to achieve a two-thirds reduction in energy consumption.
The workshop concludes with a brain-storming session addressing the question: what else can be done that would allow us all to live more comfortably in a future of scarcer resources?
“Muddling Towards Frugality” takes place at: Mansons Hall on Sat March 20th from 2:30 to 4:30 Cortes Island Admission is by donation.
The Skill Sharing program is a continuation of a project that Linnaea and FOCI have been delivering for some time.
In the current times of so much uncertainty for the future, the whole idea of sharing is getting more and more important for our community. It provides positive, practical, and constructive ways to finding common ground and working together for the benefit of all. Sharing enforces our community values for caring, empathy, and collaboration and it helps with building resilience.
