We are seeking an interpreter/environmental educator for the Salmon EcoCentre. The centre provides a variety of educational displays and interactive activities focused on salmon and the healthy watersheds necessary for their survival.

This contract position is for 9-weeks, late June through August, 2010 for a total of 32.5 hours per week (work times Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 4:30 pm) at $11 per hour. No experience is necessary as training and supervision will be provided. Applicants are however required to fulfill the following criteria:

- Should be a creative and enthusiastic communicator, with a strong interest in natural history and conservation. Preferably should have local knowledge of Quadra and/or the Discovery Islands.
- Be comfortable and motivated when working alone in a rural setting.
- Be willing to take on a range of tasks in support of maintaining and developing the EcoCentre.
- Have a reliable form of transportation (the EcoCentre is approximately 6km from Heriot Bay).

As this position is HRDC funded, applicants will also need to be between 15 and 30, have been registered as a full-time student this last academic year, and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
