Campbell River Art Gallery
The Campbell River Art Gallery will hold the city’s first Wearable Art Fashion Show and Art Auction on August 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gallery. “There will be models and a runway,” says Gallery director Jeanette Taylor, “but that’s where any similarity to fashion shows as we know them ends. The pieces you’ll see here are pure whimsy, the imaginative creations of some very talented artists Another feature of the evening is an art auction of drawings, paintings, prints and sculpture inspired by our community. The work, currently on exhibition in a show called Local Views, gives a passionate sense of place. The exhibition and sale of work is sponsored by Kask Graphics and CR Physiotherapy. Tickets for the Wearable Art Fashion Show and Art Auction are $35, which includes a glass of wine and appetizers. Proceeds support programming at the gallery, from exhibitions to classes and workshops for all ages. Contact the Gallery at 250-287-2261 for more information. The Gallery, with admission by donation, is in Tyee Plaza and is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00-5:00 p.m.
