Photography is creative and fun! Whether you are a complete novice or a published photographer, the Quadra Island Photography Club provides an opportunity to enjoy and learn about photography, and to show your work in a very friendly and supportive environment. There will be nine meetings in the 2010-11 season. We meet from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the last Monday of the month, except for December, starting on September 27, 2010 until June 2011. Meetings are held at the Quadra Island Community Centre, upstairs in Room 3.
The highlight of every meeting is viewing members' photos. Every month there is a different theme, for example, "textures", "moisture", "the colour red", etc. In preparation for the meeting you will explore your photographic creativity and skills by taking five photos on the theme. At the meeting we view and discuss everyone's photos. It is always enjoyable and informative, and always positive and non-competitive. Other club activities include presentations, learning sessions and group photo shoots.
There will be an annual membership fee to cover room and projector rental costs. The exact fee will be determined at the September meeting (it will likely be around $50 for the season). If you want to "try before you buy" you are welcome to come to two meetings at no obligation.
Novice or expert, we hope to see you at the September 27 meeting. Come and check out the Photography Club!
