I am heading up the Fraser River to see what has not been seen in 100 years! If you can't come and see this perfect miracle yourself, I will try and communicate what I see. These fish created a $500 million fishery and they are now carrying 45 million kg of ocean energy to the feed the trees that make the oxygen we breathe. We now know we could have this many fish return every four years, but we need to understand how this happened. We need to know what is different between this year and last year and the 18 years of decline before that. I think the driving factor is salmon feedlot disease epidemics, but we won't know if I am right or wrong until the salmon farmers let us have a look at the disease records for all the feedlots releasing effluent into our wild salmon migration routes.

I am travelling through the Fraser Watershed for the next 20 days. I am looking forward to seeing the fish and meeting the salmon people among them. I am blogging what I learn at:
