Nature and Culture meet a lively imagination in this exhibit of prints, paintings and drawings by local artist and jazz vocalist, Barbara Desmarais. Drop into EXPLORE in Q Cove any time during June to see the Angels of Storms, Mischief, Messes, Departures... along with a few delightfull still lifes.

An active member of the Quadra Island community since ’98 who grew up in Vancouver, Barbara has been painting and drawing all of her life. Her formal training includes a Diploma of Fine Arts from Vancouver Community College followed by printmaking instruction at Emily Carr College of Art and Design. Since then she has experimented with several mediums in the areas of printmaking, painting and collage. Many of her pieces combine two or more mediums.

Barbara’s subjects rise out of the interface of nature and culture with imagination.
