Please join us , the Comox Valley Young Naturalists Club, on Sunday June 3rd for a hike up Chinese Mountain on Quadra Island.

This will be an all day event, the hike is about 1.5 hours each way (may be more with younger kids). This is a moderate-intermediate hike for teens &adults, intermediate for kids. It's not a long hike and it's a fun hike with lots of changes in terrain. My son did this hike on his own at 6 years old and he did complain a little but overall was fine and he always wants to go back. You'll have to judge if your kids could do it depending on their hiking/walking experience. It's rocky and very narrow in some places and it is steady uphill and fairly steep going down. Strollers will not work on the trails as sometimes there's climbing over rocks or between rocks.

Once at the top we'll eat lunch, enjoy the views of the coastal and VI mountains and take a look at local flora and fauna.
