... and we all want to make a difference for this country, and the issues we are most passionate about.
As you may know, I'm volunteering with a new organization called Leadnow. Leadnow was founded by a group of young people who are passionate about creating change in Canada. We are building on the online organizing model of groups like MoveOn (USA), GetUp (Australia), and Avaaz (Global) to create an independent community that can bring generations of Canadians together to take action for our future and hold politicians accountable.
In anticipation of this election, we have spent the last month hosting a cross-country process to create the Declaration for Change - a call for politicians to cooperate for progress on some of the major challenges facing our country, a call that we will ask Canadians to back with their commitment to vote in this election. We would love for you or your organization to participate in the final stage of this process.
Thus far, our community has hosted over 75 events across the country and over 2500 Canadians filled out our online values survey to share their hopes and goals for our country (you can see the initial results on our website).
We are now in the final stage of this process: voting for the top priorities to complete the Declaration for Change. Once the Declaration is finalized, we will mobilize to have thousands of Canadians back it with their commitment to vote.
I'm getting in touch because I thought that you would be interested in participating. I’m hoping you will fill out the quick survey, and consider asking your colleagues, networks or members to participate in this process by either voting for their top priorities, or backing the Declaration for Change when it is released this Thursday.
Here’s the link to vote on the priorities -
We can send further information about the Declaration, as well as a template email you can adapt if you are interested.
I’m around to chat about Leadnow, the Declaration for Change and our election strategy as well as answer any questions you may have - please feel free to email me or call me at your convenience.
