Summer Interpreter Position – Salmon Eco-Centre, Quadra Island
We are seeking an interpreter/environmental educator for the Salmon Eco-Centre. The centre provides a variety of educational displays and interactive activities focused on salmon and the healthy watersheds necessary for their survival.

This contract position is for 9-weeks, late June through August, 2011 for a total of 36 hours per week (6 days/week, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm) at $11 per hour. No experience is necessary as training and supervision will be provided. Applicants are however required to fulfill the following criteria:

- Should be a creative and enthusiastic communicator, with a strong interest in natural history and conservation. Preferably should have local knowledge of Quadra and/or the Discovery Islands.
- Be comfortable and motivated when working alone in a rural setting.
- Be willing to take on a range of tasks in support of maintaining and developing the Eco-Centre.
- Have a reliable form of transportation (the Eco-Centre is approximately 6km from Heriot Bay).

As this position is HRDC funded, applicants will also need to be between 15 and 30, have been registered as a full-time student this last academic year, and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
