Room 3, Quadra Community Centre
Tuesday September 27, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Got a camera? Looking for an enjoyable and creative hobby that you can share with others? Look no further! The third season of Quadra Island's own photography club is commencing on September 27.
The club is open to all experience levels from novices to long-time photographers. The objectives of the club are to create a non-competitive forum for viewing and discussing our photographs, for sharing knowledge and techniques, and above all, having fun.
Meetings are held once a month from September to June, with the exception of December. Every month there is a different photographic theme, for example, “textures”, “fall settings”, “the colour red”, etc. In preparation for each meeting, members explore their photographic creativity and skills by taking five photos on the theme. At the meeting everyone’s photos are projected on a large screen and discussed in a relaxed and supportive environment. The monthly meetings often also include short educational presentations on various topics in photography. In addition to the monthly meetings, members occasionally get together for group shoots.
Please visit the club website at http://www.pbase.com/qipc
. It has information about the club's objectives, the meeting schedule, club fees, as well as a selection of photos taken by members. Call Don at 285-2142 if you have any questions.
To find out more about the club you can attend one of our meetings at no cost or obligation. We'd love to see you on September 27.
