hello to all...

i would like to let all of you know how much i appreciate all of your comments regarding the ocp revision process. i have been receiving many very positive comments and good suggestions. the response regarding the june 13th meeting has been very positive over all.

i am sending this email to you and would ask that you tell friends that are not on this list, the content contained herein.

as your director, i have many duties that i must keep on top of on a daily basis and a number of projects on the go at all times. i also have regular meetings of the RD board to prepare for and to attend. as you can imagine, this takes an incredible amount of time and energy. i have been reminded a number of times recently of the other duties that i must attend to.

i have done my best to respond to each and every email that i have received regarding the ocp process. i know i have missed some and apologize. the time has come for me to attend to some of the "other business" and to look after myself at the same time. your comments are important to me and i hope that you will send them to kate and copy me. but please do not expect a response from me at this time.

the deadline that was announced at the june 13th meeting must be extended, in my opinion, due to the public not having all of the pertinent information available to them. the new map will be posted on the internet as soon as kate gets back from holidays. the map is finished and just needs approvals. then it will be posted. the proposed policies will be developed over the next month and posted as soon as they are ready for public comment. i will be contacting senior staff to insure that the deadline for comment is reasonable and that it will be posted.

i am leaving for a much needed "time off" and will not return until around the 20th.

i look forward to reading the comments from all of you and to meting with staff to discuss next steps in this process. as bob long, CAO for the RD, stated at the june 13th meeting, the public hearing will be in early october. so, i am sure that all details will be made clear long before that for the public to have ample time to study and offer comment.

i hope that you enjoy the upcoming sunshine... it is overdue....
