I just read an article (see link) from the Vancouver Sun that may be of interest to folk in pipeline despair. The Federal Government's relentless erosion of our environmental assessment process in favour of the corporate oil bucks sucks, but there may be a way to get around them.
Seems that Gordo signed away our Provincial rights for environmental assessment on the Northern Gateway projects (perhaps with good intentions) but that this has backfired. Now the feds have changed the game plan, and the final decision could be more political than anything else. Reading this, it seems that we need to get on with lobbying our MLAs...seems there is a wee bit of hope for getting the EA job done properly...and for BC...in a get-out clause. Let's do it!
