With the happy presence of the Fair folks at the last few markets selling Fair t-shirts and chicken poo bingo squares, as well as the colourful poster dotting bulletin boards island wide, it would be hard not to have noticed that the Quadra Island Fall Fair is taking place Sunday, September 9.

But just in case you've missed it, here's the news:

We’re Rural by Nature! Come join the folks of Quadra, Cortes and the outer Discovery Islands at the second annual Quadra Island Fall Fair, and enjoy a huge array of exhibits, activities and events. Highlights of the day include the Petting Farm, Zucchini Grand Prix, Dog Agility and Doggie Dash, hundreds of examples of the best of island gardening, baking, preserving, arts, crafts, writing and general rural ingenuity, a Livestock Expo, great food, informative talks and demos, an artisan market, and music, theatre and stories throughout the Fair. It’s a day jam-packed with fun, and it all happens on the grounds of the Community Centre from 9:30 to 5:30 on Sunday, September 9.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youth 6-17 years, and $15 for a family. Children 5 and under are free. A complimentary shuttle service will meet the 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. ferries from Campbell River, and will leave from the Fair Grounds at 3:30 (for the 4 p.m. ferry) and 4:30 (for the 5 p.m. ferry) and 5:15 for the 5:50 p.m. ferry.

If you're coming by bicycle, there is a designated area to lock up your two-wheeled chariot.

Finally, please, leave your pet comfortably at home. No dogs are permitted on the Fair Grounds unless performing.
