Public Hearing for Bylaw No. 165 will commence at: 7:00 p.m.

Public Hearing for Bylaw No. 166 will commence: Immediately following the close of Public Hearing on Bylaw No. 165.

BYLAW NO. 165
Areas affected by Proposed Bylaw No. 165: Those portions of Electoral Area ‘C’ – Desolation Sound Planning Area (generally including Read, Sonora, Stuart, Maurelle and Rendevous Islands, Church House and numerous small adjacent islands, the foreshore and surface of the water) covered by Bylaw No. 1460, “Desolation Sound Rural Land Use Bylaw, 1993”.

Purpose of Proposed Bylaw No. 165: This bylaw, if adopted, would amend the existing Forestry One (F-1) land use designation to include ‘public recreation uses’ as a permitted principal use, as well as provide a site specific provision to permit the construction of a public wharf and upland recreation site at Florence Lake, Sonora Island (Crown Land File No’s. 1413707 and 1413708).

BYLAW NO. 166
Area affected by Proposed Bylaw No. 166: The subject area is described as Unsurveyed Crown foreshore or land covered by water being part of the bed of Kanish Bay, Sayward District, +/- 0.4365 hectares in area (Crown Land File No. 1414078).

Purpose of Proposed Bylaw No. 166: This bylaw, if adopted, would rezone the subject area from Access Two (AC-2) to Access One (AC-1) to permit the construction of a dock for private moorage purposes.

Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at #102 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from March 8 to March 18, 2013. The bylaws may also be viewed on the Strathcona Regional District website at www.strathconard.ca.

The public hearings will be held by a delegation of Electoral Area Directors representing the Strathcona Regional District Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaws will be given an opportunity to be heard or to file a written submission at the public hearings.

Written submissions from persons who are unable to attend the public hearings may be delivered by hand or electronically to the Regional District office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 to be considered as part of the public hearing record. The Strathcona Regional District cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearings.
