Discovery Islands Ecosystem Mapping Project

DIEM’s first maps are ready for field validation! BC’s Conservation Data Centre (CDC) is helping us plan validation, and are offering a special opportunity for community learning. CDC plant ecology and map specialists Jo-Anne Stacey and Corey Erwin will give a short presentation, after which we can ask questions and brainstorm with BC’s ecosystem mapping experts. Join us to learn how and why SEI maps are created in BC, and how and when they can be useful in our community.

When: 7-9 pm, Monday, June 10
Where: Discovery Islands Lodge (end of Surge Narrows Road on Quadra Island)
Driving: 30 minutes from Heriot Bay on the beautiful road past Main Lakes Park – carpool if you can!
