This Saturday, June 8, is Oceans Day in Campbell River. And Campbell River has a lot to celebrate, including the new hands-on Aquarium at Discovery Pier across from the Maritime Heritage Centre. Opening Day festivities at Discovery Passage Aquarium begin at 11 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Then it's time to explore! The aquarium's displays and live tanks will get you and your kids up close and personal with local sea life from Georgia Strait. Colourful and curious, these aquatic critters will spend the summer in the aquarium's live tanks before being returned to their home waters in the fall.
Discovery Passage Aquarium is open from 11am to 5pm on Oceans Day, June 7. Admission is by donation.
