The Fall Fair is just days away. You have worked hard all summer, now is your time to shine. Let’s fill the exhibit hall with your wondrous creations! Don’t listen to that inner voice that tells you that your giant pumpkin isn’t giant enough, or your jam isn’t jammy enough. That inner voice is a liar. (Unless that inner voice tells you that you are awesome. If it does, keep listening!) Every year we are dazzled by the talents of Discovery Islanders and we know that this year will be just as spectacular!
Registration is at the Community Centre on Saturday September 7th. All exhibits can be dropped off between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
We have put in our official request for good weather, so hopefully that will be granted. Some things you may want to bring: Sunscreen & hat, water bottle – there will be a water filling station, a blanket to sit on while watching the entertainment, cash for admission, to buy delicious food and other items from fabulous vendors, or to donate towards next year’s fair. Maybe pack an umbrella? Strictly for sunshade of course, because as mentioned we have requisitioned excellent weather!
As often happens when organizing events there have been some last minute changes to the lineup. Unfortunately, Emily Spiller has cancelled her scheduled appearance. Have no fear; there are still many great acts to take in!
Mark your calendars for Quadra Island’s Fall Fair. Expect some fabulous family fun on Sunday September 8th at Blenkin Park. There will be over 30 different events to take in, plus 12 musical acts on two different stages, exhibits and lots of vendors– amazing value for $5.00 per adult, children ages 6 – 17 are $3.00 and children under 5 are free. There is even a shuttle bus from the ferry! Check us out online at http://www.quadraisland.ca/fall-fair/ or find us on Facebook!
