This email was rec'd yesterday from the BC Ferry Coalition. Please read it. It is affirmation that others will be there from the Sunshine Coast.
We can get there easier than they can, so lets's not be beat out out by our mainland sisters and brothers! ;-)
Please attend! Read on!
Please join us on Saturday, April 12th from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre (747 Jones St., Qualicum Beach) for a non-partisan supportive rally. The rally coincides with the lunch break of the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities (AVICC) annual general meeting being held at the same location. We need to show appreciation for those delegates already in support of our mission and we need to make a good showing to win over the rest.
Please bring non-partisan signs expressing your discontent at how the provincial government is handling BC Ferries or signage thanking the regional delegates’ support of our cause. Focus on the destruction of our provincial and local economies, the destruction of the tourism industry, how we need fares rolled back, how the seniors are getting hammered by the increase in fares, and the such.
This is a supportive exercise and a media event to keep the pressure on BC Ferries and the provincial government. We need a good showing at the rally so please make the effort to attend.
Please spread word of this event far and wide!
