From May 18- June 10, 2014, a Lakota Delegation will embark on a historic journey to meet with Indigenous communities in British Columbia.
These are the descendants of the land defenders who wiped out the 7th Calvary under General George Custer. They are once again standing firm in the face of threats to their homeland and Mother Earth and building broad alliances all across Turtle Island.
The group says "We are all one in the face of the tar sands corporations assault on the land. Whether it is Keystone XL, Enbridge, Kinder Morgan, Line 9 or the Energy East proposal the objective is the same: to massively expand tar sands extraction regardless of the risks to the land, the oceans and the climate.
"Help build our unity, help build our strength, help build our capacity to stand firm and fight back by making this tour a success."
