On 2014-07-22 Quadra RCMP, EHS, and the Fire Department responded to a report of a female that had jumped off the Cortes-Quadra Ferry into the water. BC Ferry employees were quickly able to retrieve the woman from the water and transport her to the government docks at Heriot bay. EHS and Fire were quickly on scene and were able to provide immediate first aid. The woman was transported to Campbell River Hospital by EHS and then later to St.Josephs Hospital. Thank you to BC Ferries and to Quadra Island EHS and Fire for their quick actions which helped save this woman's life.
