The Quadra Sustainable Energy Fair kicks off on the evening of Friday January 25, and continues all day Saturday, January 26, at the Community Centre.

Keynote Address: On Friday at 7:30 pm, you can hear an inspiring talk by the developer of what is probably the most innovative housing project in North America. Joe Van Belleghem is the award-winning consultant for Dockside Green, Victoria’s harbourfront community that's setting new standards for green building technologies and design. The first phase of this project is on budget and on time and addresses the “triple bottom line” – social, environmental and fiscal responsibility. Admission to Joe's talk is by donation.

The Energy Fair: On Saturday the 26th, from 10 am to 6 pm, the Community Centre will be filled with exhibits and information on sustainable technologies for residential and business applications. A presentation program will run throughout the day upstairs at the Centre. You'll find information on alternative energy systems, sustainable building materials, energy audits and government grants – as well as a display of off-the-grid energy systems already in place on Quadra. You can even take an electric bike for a road test!

Admission is free for the Energy Fair (which is organized by Sierra Quadra). There will be an all-day food concession at the Community Centre, and a draw for door prizes at 4:30pm.
