Do you have story to tell, maybe your early days living on Quadra or in some distant land? Maybe it is a story of your family? Perhaps you know someone who has lived a life full of stories that could be shared? Could be you are someone with a story and would enjoy working with another senior or individual to create your story.
Quadra Literacy is offering Telling Tales - a digital photo story workshop where you will learn how to create your story using photographs and text. We use a program compatible with iPads. You can bring your own or borrow an iPad mini for the duration of your project. A series of five sessions, over a three week period, will help you develop your ideas and create a project that you can share with family and friends. Days and times are to be determined with participants.
Our first series of workshops were held in May. The next series will be held in September/October and potentially another series in October/November.
Here are some ways to participate: *learn how to create your own digital photo story *volunteer to help someone create a digital photo story *collaborate with a senior and create a digital photo story for them.
In this first year, seniors are given preference but in the spring, the project will be open to everyone. Now that we have the hardware, software and growing expertise in the community this can be an ongoing opportunity to record the history of our community and its people.
Light up the fall season with new learning. Please contact Robin Beaton 250-285- 3185 or email by SEPTEMBER 7 if you are interested in a Telling Tales workshop this fall.
