Long Weekend Police Report

On September 4th, RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had all four of its tires slashed. Quadra RCMP also received several parking and other traffic complaints.

On September 5th in the early morning hours, RCMP were called out to assist Quadra Fire and EHS with an apparent overdose at the Quadrapalooza festival. The person was transported to Campbell River Hospital and is in good condition. Still in the early morning, RCMP responded to a family disturbance, people fighting in front of the RCMP detachment, and then a domestic assault. RCMP then received a complaint regarding the noise coming from the Quadrapalooza festival which was occurring late into the evening and early morning hours. RCMP also received parking and traffic complaints.

On September 6th, RCMP were called to nude people at the beach, intoxicated people in public, traffic complaints, and a drug file. Quadra RCMP then received a report of an intoxicated person on the BC Ferry. RCMP located the person on the ferry who was not very coherent so EHS was called to the scene. Eventually the person started to feel better and became more alert. Police learned that the person was on their way to Quadrapalooza and had just used Ketamine. A good Samaritan gave the person a ride to the Quadrapalooza festival.

On September 7th and 8th , RCMP received complaints of people trespassing and sleeping on other people's property. These people had enjoyed the Quadrapalooza Festival and were on their way home and missed the ferries.

Sept 14th Report
On September 11th, 2015 Quadra RCMP assisted Cortes Island Fire Department with an evacuation of the immediate area around the Gorge Harbour after a propane leak was reported. A 4000lb propane tank was leaking in the area and surrounding residents were evacuated. The tank was eventually fixed and everyone was allowed back to the area.

On September 13th, 2015 Quadra RCMP received a report of a boat that had washed up on shore in Heriot Bay. The boat is white in colour with blue trim. RCMP are trying to locate the owner of this vessel.
