Quadra Island Medical Clinic's flu clinics are now completed but we still have lots of vaccine. Please call to make an apt. for your flu shot if you have not already done so. Flumist is now available. Call 250-285-3540.

For the 2015-2016 flu season, the vaccine(s) contain the following strains: A/California H1N1 which also contains swine flu, A/Switzerland H3N2, B/Phuket (new this year) and B/Brisbane (in quadrivalent vaccines only).
Influenza is recommended for all individuals six months of age and older.
It is recommended that children age 2-17 years receive the quadrivalent flumist, or fluzone quadrivalent. Flumist will not be available until the end of October.
It is important that those at high risk be immunized. This includes any adult or child with a chronic health condition, adults over the age of 65, residents of nursing homes or chronic care facilities, pregnant women, Aboriginal peoples, and those people capable of transmitting the virus to high-risk groups.
Those individuals with a previous anaphylactic reaction to the vaccine should not receive it.
Soreness at the injection site is the most common side effect of the vaccine. You cannot get the flu from the vaccine.
We welcome any questions related to flu vaccination.
