On April 22nd, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted a roadblock in Heriot Bay. During the road block RCMP issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) to a person who provided breath samples that were in excess of the legal limit. The vehicle they were driving was impounded for 30 days. RCMP also issued a 24 hour suspension to a person who was under the influence of marijuana and failed road side testing.
On April 23rd, 2016 Quadra RCMP responded to a report of a loud ongoing party near April Point resort. Police attended and located a bachelor party and spoke to a male wearing a very nice dress. The male assured police that there would be no further problems.
On April 23rd, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted a road check on Cortes Island. During the road check a male was located and found to be breaching several court ordered bail conditions. Quadra RCMP are recommending charges to crown counsel.
On April 30th, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted another road check on West Road. RCMP issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) to a person who refused to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device. The vehicle they were driving was impounded for 30 days. Marihuana and empty liquor containers were located in the vehicle.
On May 1st, 2016 Quadra RCMP were called to Cortes Island to a report of a person yelling random threats in public. Police attended and spoke to the person causing a disturbance and making the threats. Police ensured that everyone was safe and that the person would not be causing any more disturbances in public.
On the afternoon of May 4th, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a car in Quathiaski Cove. The driver displayed symptoms of impairment due to alcohol and had an odour of liquor on their breath. The driver provided a breath sample into an approved screening device and blew a fail. The driver was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) from driving and the vehicle they were driving was impounded for 30 days.
