Hand-In-Hand Early Years Nature Education Program will be hosting a free workshop to Quadra families with children aged 3-6 years old. Siblings are welcome!
Quadra Children’s Centre
Saturday, August 27th
9am – 2:45 pm
Schedule of Events:
9 – 11:30am: Our educators will offer a program following the Forest School Model which include components of play/nature based and child led activities. In addition to this self-directed outdoor play, we will offer nature inspired songs, books, games and activities that can easily be experienced in any and all natural environments.
11:30am – 12:15pm: We will take a break for a picnic lunch at the Quadra Children’s Centre.
12:15pm – 1:45pm: Our educators will present to parents/guardians, with supervised play for the children at the Quadra Children’s Centre playground about playing in nature with families. We will discuss motivation, appropriate clothing, healthy snacks, inspiration, education, risky play, having fun and provide references for inspiring nature based activity resources and time for Q&A.
1:45pm – 2:45pm: Parents/guardians will put our presentation into practice by revisiting experiential play at a different location in the forest. This will provide a hands-on opportunity for parents/guardians to put to use what we’ve just discussed, while asking questions throughout.
There is space for 20 children and their families in this workshop so please register now. More information about the workshop is available at hand-in-handeducation.com/nature-play-families/
