There will be a naloxone distribution and brief training session at Quadra Community Center on Thursday October 6, at 12:00pm.

Naloxone is an anti-overdose medication that, if administered during an opiate overdose, reverses the opiate effects and saves lives. Yep, it does. I is easy to use, it just needs to be around.

AVI Campbell River is coming over to Quadra to hand out Naloxone kits and show people how to use them.  This is a safe space with no registration or rsvp needed and is free of charge.

The BC Ministry of Health declared a state of emergency over the rampant overdose and death rate, due mainly from the opiate fentanyl, which is lacing many recreational drugs currently on the market. Naloxone is now available to the public with a brief training in how to use it required.

Thus event is happening at Quadra Community Center in room 2, on Thursday October 6 at 12:00pm.
