This past summer, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society acquired footage showing many unhealthy looking fish inside BC salmon farms. Videos were also taken of thousands of wild baby salmon trapped inside the pens, some being attacked and eaten by farmed fish. These shocking revelations led to the immediate occupation of two farms by Coastal First Nations, who have said NO to salmon farms in their territories for over 30 years!
Sierra Quada is hosting a silent auction fundraiser in support of this peaceful occupation. Please join us for a multimedia presentation, with first hand accounts by renowned biologist Alexandra Morton and Carla Voyageur, whose daughter has been occupying a farm since mid August.
Our event takes place Saturday November 11th at the Quadra Community Centre. Admission is by donation and doors open at 7pm.
Silent auction and presentation 7:30 to 9pm.
Refreshments and homemade goodies available as always!
If you have something for the silent auction, please bring it with you that evening (the earlier the better), or call 250-204-4230 to arrange for pickup if you're not able to attend. Thanks!
