During the Christmas Season police conducted several road checks looking for impaired drivers. Only one impaired driver was located and criminal charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel as they had been issued a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) a couple weeks earlier. During the road checks police encountered lots of designated drivers which was great to see. As a thank you for being a designated driver, police handed out free Mcdonalds coffee coupons on behalf of ICBC.

On December 31st, 2017 a suspicious male beached a small dinghy/skiff on the rocks by the Cape Mudge Lighthouse after he was towed for a short distance by another vessel. It is unknown where the skiff came from but if you are missing your skiff contact the Quadra RCMP to claim it.
