The LeClere family
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Sister, Grandma,
Great Grandma and Aunt, Audrey Lorna LeClere.

She passed away peacefully at the Fort St. John Hospital on February 17, 2018 at the age of 90.

Our Mom was the center of our family, her passing leave a great void that can never be filled.

Audrey was an avid gardener, a skilled weaver/spinner and knitter. Most who knew her have wonderful handmade mementoes to remember her by when we are wearing them. She always looked forward to visiting with neighbors and friends, who will miss her as well. Mostly Audrey loved being outside, and above all she loved animals, there were always beloved pets that gave her great joy.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband Dan with whom she spent a lifetime of adventures and worked side by side. Building fish boats in one of their shipyards and commercial fishing.

Audrey and Dan were long time residence of Quadra Island. They moved to the Rose Prairie area of Northern B.C. when one of their children’s families moved here for work. They loved it and bought a farm which they loved. The wide open spaces and beautiful skies were what they loved most.

She is also predeceased by her brother Frank Hillis, they grew up commercial fishing, logging and trapping on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Their Dad had what is now the West Coast trail as his trap line for a time, and she tramped along with the family as a 4 year old, long before there were bridges and ladders that are in place today.

She is survived by her brother Rod Hillis (Deb), her children Dan LeClere (Mitsuko),Yvonne Charlesworth (predeceased by her husband Dave), Cynthia Chartrand (Joel).

Her Grandchildren, Paul, Susy, Brian,(Dan and Mitsuko) Erin, Jesse, Joleen and Kathleen (Cynthia and Joel) as well as Great Grandchildren Paul, Alana (Paul and Loralee),Trenton, Danny,(Erin) Mica, Carmine,(Jesse and Michael) Donovan and Elliot, (Joleen and Bobby) as well as a new little one on the way this summer,(Kathleen and Nick).

We will all miss Grandma soup, fresh bread and tea with cookies along with stories of long ago.
There will be no service at her request. In liu of flowers please do something nice for someone in your circle.
