What better way to celebrate mid-summer than to visit some of Quadra's beautiful gardens. There will be 13 gardens on the tour, ten with quilts. Over 130 quilts will be displayed in the gardens, the largest number we have ever had in a tour. The gardens are very varied with one being first cultivated 100 years ago and another was forest just three years ago. The roses will be at their best and the vegetables growing while you watch them. There will be goats and kids (furry kind) to see, orchards, some very old, showing their promise of fruit for the fall, more varieties of vegetables than you may believe possible. Rocky Quadra may be, but there are many areas suitable for gardening and the rocks have their use in the garden as well.
Tickets are $15, good for both days, and the gardens are open from 10 am to 4 pm. The route is just over 30 km on sealed roads so is cyclable for those who wish.
