We Need Your Treasures!
For the 24th annual Quadra Philippine Connection’s fund-raising GIANT GARAGE SALE to be held at Quadra Community Centre on Sunday, September 23rd. All CLEAN donations in GOOD WORKING ORDER will be gratefully accepted for this rewarding event. We would like to accept as many of your treasures as possible but regret that we CANNOT accept MATTRESSES, SKIIS, GOLF CLUBS, ENCYCLOPEDIAS, MAGAZINES, BABY STROLLERS, CARSEATS OR CRIBS, FABRIC PIECES, MICROWAVES, TELEVISIONS OR COMPUTERS. The latter can be recycled in Campbell River at Island Return It, 1580-F Willow Street! We look forward to your donations of furniture, but please ensure that all upholstery is clean, free of mold and in saleable condition.
Drop-off will be available at the following homes from the beginning of September until Friday, September 21st. We again extend sincere appreciation to these participants for continuing to offer this invaluable service!

Direct drop-off to the community centre will also be available on Saturday, September 22nd until 2 pm.
All proceeds go toward Quadra’s ongoing support of the community of Cataw in the remote Kalinga area of the northern Philippines through child sponsorship and the Gift of Peace Program. This project was initiated by the International Association for Transformation, Quadra’s parent organization. IAT’s Gift For Peace Program is an award winning project that continues to be a huge success in promoting peace between conflicting tribes in northern Luzon and has served as a model for other countries in the world.
We invite volunteers to participate in this positive community event by helping sort through treasures on Saturday, September 22nd or by helping pack up following the sale after 2 on Sunday, September 23rd. Saturday volunteers get a sneak preview of what’s to come, and are welcome to purchase a reasonable number of small items by donation following their shift. We offer a free for all after the sale on Sunday afternoon and shop-lifting volunteers will NOT be prosecuted! In the spirit of community, we encourage energetic able-bodied volunteers to come discover treasures still unfound as they help to pack up and load trucks for various thrift stores. We also welcome anyone with vehicles or trucks who would be willing to load up or take a few bags or boxes to Campbell River the week following the sale.
Be certain to write the week-end of September 22nd and 23rd on your calendar! To volunteer for this worthwhile fund-raising event and for more information about the sale or child sponsorship, please contact Carol at cfoortyahoo.com or 285-3035!
