Island Climate Action Network
A group of Quadra Islanders, interested in encouraging sustainable lifestyle choices for a healthy environment, has joined together as Island Climate Action Network (ICAN). ICAN initially formed following the fall workshop by Guy Dauncey. Since then, our group has been meeting to discuss ideas for promoting a healthy future. ICAN is dedicated to increasing awareness about climate change and supporting projects that encourage sustainability on Quadra.
Currently, ICAN is developing initiatives to address several issues that effect the environment. Project plans involve the area of food sustainability, communication to encourage "green living", and advocacy for climate-healthy policies. With a small membership, ICAN looks for ways to coordinate with existing organizations and others in our community who may be interested in specific projects.
If you are interested in providing active support or learning more about our project plans, call ICAN through Lisa at 285-2480. Let's join together in our love for Quadra, and support her growth into a healthy future.
