PERRIN SPARKS is the featured artist for the month of JUNE at DRAW Gallery. An array of current sketches in oil, charcoal and pastel, an image begins to occur that transcends or goes beyond the features or personality of Perrin’s models. The Gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from 12-6pm. DRAW Gallery is located at Village Square, in the rear – just follow the signs. Drop by and see the show next time you are at the Square. Haunting and beautiful, these sketches capture a breath in time which is so fleeting. Perrin is a Quadra Island local artist. For the past 25 years, she had prepared surgical illustrations for a variety of medical schools and publishers. Today, she finds herself moving from commission portraits, which have been a sideline to her medical art career, to full time fine art paintings. As Perrin says, “I guess after years of ‘blue for the veins, red for the arteries,’ I want to break out and tell my own story.”
