A very succesful Steak Dinner at the Legion on June 7! Many thanks to all the board members Ken & Shirley Duncan, Carol Woods, Muriel Krook, Rolf Kellerhals, Kurt Hagen & Riki Vogt as well as Marg Lasby – all worked hard to make it a success. Thanks also to expert steak cooks Bill Bradshaw & Billy DuBois.

We are happy to announce that 8 members have joined the "1000 Club" by donating one thousand dollars to the effort to build the first 2 units in 2009. We're obviously looking forward to many more members of this club – tax receipts will be issued, reducing the actual cost of membership.

Speaking of membership in the Society, it now stands at 64, doubling in the past 2 weeks! It is very important to have a large membership when applying for grants – for example Cortes with 140 members just received a grant from BC Housing of $380,000! You can join for only $5 at the booth each Saturday at the Farmer's Market, or contact any of our directors.
We are in the process of applying to BC Housing, and every extra member increases our chances of consideration for a grant.
