The following notice has just been posted on the BCF website:
With to the successful [sic!] introduction of the BC Ferries ExperienceTM Card as a payment method for travel, BC Ferries is discontinuing the sale of prepaid paper tickets on most of its minor routes, including Campbell River – Quadra Island, effective July 31, 2008.
As the BC Ferries ExperienceTM Card is not currently accepted on the Quadra Island – Cortes Island route, prepaid paper tickets will continue to be sold for this route until further notice.
BC Ferries will continue to accept prepaid paper tickets currently in market as a method of payment; however, customers will be required to pay any difference between the March 31, 2008 price and the current price at the ticket booth. Any future fuel surcharges will also apply.
Please note that the electronic BC Ferries ExperienceTM Card provides customers access to the same reduced fares that were available with the prepaid paper tickets. For further information about the new card, click onto http://www.bcferries.com/experience_card/ or call
