First the good (terrific) news:- a private individual has contributed $40,000 - putting the society "over the top" is our effort to raise $100k by October. Hopefully there are a few more philanthropists out there!

Not-so-good news:- BC Lottery Corporation has belatedly advised they "do not fund senior housing projects"! This from an organisation that made the most profit ever in 2007, and paid a half million to the CEO fired for incompetence!!! WOW......what it means is that we must continue to fundraise in order to "make it happen" in 2009.

We are optimistic that the Quadra community will continue to support our efforts, and will soon begin clearing the lot, and contacting potential contractors to see who is interested and able to start building in 2009
