The Heriot Bay Inn was a part of the power outage rumour, and even went so far as offering a power outage special and posting it around the island. Why? Because BC Hydro phoned and told us it was going to be off, and when we phoned back, just to double check this craziness, an operator at the 1-888-POWERON line confirmed that the power would be off. Funny, the BC Hydro website doesn't even have a section for Quadra Island, making it quite challenging for operators (and Island residents) to check on what is planned.
Anyhow, the Heriot Bay Inn is still offering a great deal on a pancakes with fruit sauce or cinnamon bun french toast for breakfast (7.95), and for lunch, buttermilk marinated fried chicken with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, gravy and pecan sticky bun (9.95, % & under 3.95). We are now calling it a POWER ON Special! See you at the HBI.
