The Coastal Ferry Act mandates a role for the Strathcona Regional District (SRD), and other coastal regional districts, in the nomination process for the board of directors of the B.C. Ferry Authority. The SRD is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals who wish to be considered for positions as members of the board of the B.C. Ferry Authority, commencing April 1, 2009.

The SRD, in collaboration with the Regional Districts of Alberni-Clayquot, Comox Valley, Nanaimo and Powell River will be nominating three to five individuals to the B.C. Ferry Authority for consideration as members of the board. Detailed information is available at the Strathcona Regional District website at www.strathconard.ca and includes a backgrounder on the B.C. Ferry Authority board of directors’ nominations, a skills and experience profile, and a candidate nomination form.

Individuals interested in being considered for nomination are requested to complete the nomination form.
