Quadra Island has many feral cats as well as stray cats that have been abandoned. Perhaps you’ve seen some of them around the island. If we don’t do something to help stop the cycle of unwanted litters, the population of feral cats will continue to grow on Quadra.
Cats are able to have 3 litters per year and those kittens can grow up to produce the same number of litters each year and so on and so on. Spaying and neutering these cats is a way to stop this unwanted cycle.
We are looking for people who are interested in helping the homeless cats of Quadra Island through feeding and caring for them and ultimately organizing a program to spay and neuter them.
We have invited a member of Kitty Cat P.A.L.S., a non-profit organization that traps, neuters and returns feral cats to their colonies in the Courtenay/Comox area to attend the meeting to help us get a better understanding of what is involved and to field questions of those who are at the meeting.
We are holding this meeting on January 11th at 1:00p.m. at the DRAW Gallery located upstairs and behind Café Aroma. If you love animals and want to help these cats have a better quality of life, then please join us to discuss this topic and create a plan to make a change.

President, Kitty Cat P.A.L.S.
